Song meaning of Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst by Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick's "Sing About Me I'm Dying of Thirst" has got me thirsty for some explanations. In the first part, he's saying that he wants to be remembered after his death and wants someone to "sing about him." But then he talks about all the trouble and violence in his life, questioning if anyone will actually care to sing about him. In the second part, things take a darker turn as he describes the harsh realities of life in the ghetto. He talks about drugs, prostitution, and violence, all things that can lead you to "dying of thirst." Kendrick's lyrics are raw, savage and real, but they make me wonder if he's ever heard of a little thing called therapy. Maybe a good talk with a therapist could help him work through some of these tough issues instead of bottling them up and then spitting them out in his songs.
