Song meaning of Nadarang by Shanti Dope

Ah, Shanti Dope's Nadarang. A timeless tale of a man (or woman, let's not assume) who just can't resist the "liwanag" or light of their object of desire. Just when they think they can handle it, "nadarang" or consumed by the fire of their passion yet again. They question why they always let themselves be drawn in, but are always willing to hurt if necessary. Our protagonist can't help but wonder if their crush has plans that don't include them, but it's okay, they have other things to do too, like fantasizing about their crush's makeup and wallet. They try to hide their concern, but deep down they want to be there for them, perhaps as one of their "dosa" (a secret lover). They're just so sweet, even if they've had to endure their fair share of disappointment in life. And it's always the same cycle, trying to resist the allure but always giving in, hoping for a chance encounter and willing to sacrifice if need be. All in all, a true masterpiece of a tragicomedy.
